Another great event was organised by the Trinity Enterprise Network yesterday this time it was n evening lecture by one of the all-time great business gurus of our time Frank Maguire, founding member and former VP of FedEx.

The lecture took place in the Davis Lecture Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin Tuesday, December 1st 2009, at 7.15pm.

I was delighted to be invited to meet with Frank for a great conversation over a glass of sherry in the Trinity College Senior Common Room, Dining Hall before he gave his lecture Ian Lawlor of Horizon Speakers who was hosting Frank’s visit to Dublin also brought along some leading Irish entrepreneurs whom we had an opportunity to network with.  Frank really is as he is described ‘a business teacher and a master storyteller, offering a realistic and human approach to business and leadership success’.

If you have ever FedEx’d a package, watched Nightline, flown on American Airlines, or eaten at Kentucky Fried Chicken, you have been touched by the work of Frank Maguire.

Frank is the founding member and former VP of FedEx, former head of programming for ABC Radio Networks; communications consultant to Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson and right hand man to KFC founder and pop-culture icon Colonel Harlan Sanders.

Frank’s simple, straightforward message inspires, instructs and motivates. He shares his valuable lessons in leadership, strategizing and success empowerment and has answers based on 50 years’ experience in corporate culture with hands on experience for finding the right business solution for a broad range of business issues.

It was a great evening with lots of great old business war stories and anecdotes. One book of his I would recommend for start-up entrepreneurs which details how to recruit and retain a motivated and dedicated workforce is: “How Validated Employees Can Impact Your Bottom Line
